1. What exactly is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions caused by mechanical dysfunction of joints and muscles. In plain English, that means finding out whats wrong, manipulating joints and muscles, to relieve pain and restore mobility and recommending stretches and exercises to maximise your chances of remaining fit. In many cases, we have to identify the one small action that may be causing pain.

How much does it hurt?
Little, if at all. First time patients are always warned that there may be some short-term discomfort but very few complain of any. Nearly all of our patients find their treatment a pleasantly relaxing experience something to look forward to.
6. But is even mild discomfort worth it?
Definitely. If you werent already in discomfort, you wouldnt be a patient, would you? Chiropractic is all about relieving pain.
7. Are there some things chiropractic can t cure?
Yes. For instance,some headaches may need referral to your GP,or a suitable specialist.
8. Can anyone be a chiropractor?
No.The title of chiropractor is protected by law. Only practitioners who are registered by the GCC (General Chiropractic Council) can use the title.
9. Is chiropractic a genuine health-care profession?
Yes.It takes at least 4 years, studying anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, radiology, neurology and the hands-on practicalities of chiropractic technique,to qualify as a chiropractor.And all chiropractors have to re-register on an annual basis.
